Abstract:
Dioctyl carbonate was synthesized by transesterification of diethyl carbonate and N-octanol using solid base K2CO3/& gamma;-Al2O3 as catalyst. The content of dioctyl carbonate in the reaction solution was monitored by gas chromatography. The Effects of catalyst dosage, material ratio, reaction temperature and time and catalyst reuse times on the content of dioctyl carbonate were investigated. The results show that the solid base K2 CO3/& gamma;-Al2O3 has higher catalytic activity for the reaction. The optimized synthesis process was as follows: the molar ratio of N-octanol to diethyl carbonate was 2.3:1, the amount of catalyst accounted for 3% of diethyl carbonate, the reaction was carried out at 150 ℃ for 2H, and then heated to 160 ℃ for 1H, finally, it rises to 170 ℃ and reacts for 1H, the content of the product is more than 99.2% after vacuum distillation, the single-pass reaction yield can reach more than 85%, and the catalyst can be reused for more than 3 times after recovery.Key words:
